Osmose
W ood is a source of food for bacteria, fungi, certain species of insects and marine organisms. To make wood a truly optimal building material, it must be protected in some manner. The technology of the twentieth century enabled the development of a successful method for protecting and preserving wood, further adding to its desirability as a viable and long-term building material.
Osmose brand wood products from Western Wood Preserving Co., are a result of that technology.

Since 1934, Osmose has been a leader in the research and development of wood preservatives and wood treating methods. The
Osmose preservative is widely used throughout the United States for the pressure treatment of lumber, timbers, poles, pilings and plywood. The Osmose pressure treatment process results in a product that is pleasing in appearance and maintains the strength and workability of wood.
Osmose Wood Products from Western Wood Preserving Co. are clean and dry to the
touch, with no offensive odors or irritating fumes. Osmose pressure
treated wood products are ideal for use anywhere wood is used in contact with
plants, animals or people. When working with Osmose brand pressure treated
wood, always follow safety and handling precautions. Ask your supplier for
a copy of the Consumer Information Sheet.NatureWood
NatureWood is a special
trademarked product available only from licensed Osmose treating plants and
their retail/wholesale distributors. NatureWood is a stain or a color-coated
product. A two-step process is involved. First stain is applied to the wood
then pressure treatment with ACQ is performed, to achieve an appearance similar
to redwood or cedar.
A major feature of NatureWood is that it begins a color mellowing, or "naturalization" process almost immediately to simulate the weathering characteristics of other natural wood species. The rich, reddish-brown color and built-in, warranted protection against termites, rot and decay make
NatureWood an ideal product for fencing, decking or landscaping outdoor projects.
